The top dog names in Vancouver for 2020 have been revealed

This year's top 100 dog names in Vancouver, and Canada, have just been revealed. Does your pup's name make the list?

As we enter the last month of 2020, the most popular dog names of the year have been released, and the top spots remain the same for a second year running.

Once again, Bella and Charlie top the list for top female and male dog names in Vancouver, according to an annual report compiled by Rover.com.

If you chose either of those names for your pup, you can give yourself an extra pat on the back as not only is are they the top choices amongst Vancouverites, but also with pet parents across all of the Canada.

Rover, The Dog People, revealed the country's top 100 most popular dog names, as well as breaking down each city's preferences from their database of over 35,000 pet parents.

Luna, Daisy and Milo were also very popular choices this year in Vancouver, with Luna knocking Bella off the top spot for female dogs in Toronto.

The report also revealed top pet name trends in Vancouver throughout the past year - with the name Coconut over 500% for pups.

Vancouver's Trending Names

Coconut isn't the only sweets-inspired names on the rise this year in Vancouver - Pumpkin is up 85% since last year and Rolo is up 17%.

Vancouver dog owners have also have been inspired by nature in 2020, with names like Storm, River or Snowy trending up.

As predicted in 2019, pets named after popular TV shows was a huge trend this year, and not surprisingly, many Canadians took inspiration from beloved TV series Schitt’s Creek.

In order, the most popular Schitt's Creek inspired names amongst Canadian dogs were Twyla, Alexis, Stevie, Johnny and David.
