This Vancouver company is accepting nominations for deserving dog owners to receive a free gift packed full of doggy essentials, and you can help choose who gets them.

Dogs Supporting Local, a new platform that makes supporting local easier than ever, is asking Vancouverites to let them know about local dog owners who would do anything for their furbaby.

Maybe it's your neighbour that recently lost their job due to the pandemic, or a friend who is a nurse but still makes sure her dog is well taken care of. Or maybe it's just family member who is a dedicated dog parent that deserves a gift to put a smile on their face.

If you know someone who needs a little extra love right now, Dogs Supporting Local wants to hear about them. You can nominate them today by sending their story through the 'Give A Free Kit' section on their website.

Dogs Supporting Local launched their first round of Dogs Supporting Local Kits last month and sold out within one week. With each kit packed full of doggy essentials from local pet businesses, dog owners had the option to donate a kit to a local rescue or pet food bank of their choice.

Over $2000 local pet products were donated to Furever Freed Dog Rescue and BC SPCA’s Charlie's Pet Food Bank thanks to the generosity of the Vancouver dog community, and you can join the waitlist for the next round of kits today on their website.

Each month, the kits will have an assortment of full-size local products (worth over $85) from categories including Treats, Food, Poo Bags, Toys, Shampoos, Accessories and Supplements, all donated by local BC businesses that are in a position to help right now.

It's been a tough few months for our community, so help put a smile on a deserving dog parent's face today by nominating them to receive a free gift, right to their door.
