Searching for dog-friendly apartments in Vancouver? It's not easy, but this list of current buildings that welcome pets will help.


With an estimated 150,000 dog owners, Vancouver is often seen as one of the most dog-friendly cities in Canada. But as any apartment-hunting dog owner can tell you, finding pet-friendly apartments isn't as easy as you'd think for Vancouverites.


In fact, in 2019 one Vancouver dog owner was forced to move out of the city to keep her dogs together due to the tight restrictions placed on renters.


However, property management companies are increasingly realizing the importance of providing pet-friendly options for renters, and we found 12 apartment buildings that welcome our furry friends in their rental units.


So if you're a dog parent hunting for a new studio, apartment or townhouse in the city, check out these options that all welcome your four-legged bestie.



Beach Towers has pet-friendly units with the the option for a city view, overlooking the bright lights of downtown Vancouver, or ocean views spanning English Bay and Stanley Park.

You also get access to their complementary dog grooming facility, and lots of green space around the building for your pup to do their business. Pet Policy: Small dogs allowed. Pet-friendly features include Pet Washing Station, Community Dog Area, Nearby Dog Parks and On-site Pet Waste Station.

Located on Kitsilano’s west side, Larchway Gardens offers spacious suites with beautiful city views and a spacious balcony - so plenty of room for your pup!


Pet Policy: 1 dog per unit (25 lb. max) is permitted. Breed restrictions apply.

Allowable pets are cats, dogs, birds and fish (in a 30 gallon/ 113 liters aquarium, maximum)

1/2 a month's rent is required as deposit for permitted pets.

5. Yaletown 939, Yaletown


If you're looking for a more spacious option, Yaletown 939 offers thoughtfully designed 2 Bedroom dog-friendly townhouses.


Pet Policy: 1 dog per unit permitted (not to exceed 25 lbs in weight). Dogs are permitted in the townhouses only. Breed restrictions apply.

2 domestic cats per unit, permitted on floors 6-10 only. Fish (aquarium not to exceed 30 gallons). Caged birds (4 birds max.).

1/2 a month's rent is required as deposit for permitted pets.

Just a short walk from the Seawall, this is great area for your pup to enjoy. Larger breeds are permitted and an added bonus is that this rental comes with access to a Laundromutt™ pet washer.
